Prior to being admitted into partnership at the firm, Sola obtained extensive experience in tax, regulatory and advisory services while working with Andersen and later, KPMG.  He also spent a year providing Financial Advisory Services (FAS) in KPMG’s FAS Division.  He then practised in the law firm of Banwo & Ighodalo for about two years.  In addition to being one of the leading authorities in the growing area of electricity law in Nigeria, Sola has extensive knowledge of the tax and business regulatory environment in Nigeria.  He has conducted in-depth research into the laws that regulate conduct of business in Nigeria by both foreign and local investors.

Sola obtained his LL.B degree from the University of Lagos in 1998 and a B.L. degree from the Nigerian Law School in 2000.  He graduated with the best results in his faculty in the University, winning several academic prizes and making the inaugural Arthur Andersen Honours List for top academic performance in Nigerian universities.  He also won various academic prizes at the Nigerian Law School.  In addition to the training received through formal education, he has attended several structured training courses, which include Basic Accounting, International Tax, International Project Finance, and Time Management.

Sola is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and is also a fellow of the Centre for International Legal Studies, Austria.
